If your business is very stable and you’re comfortable managing some filings and deadlines on your own, then our Worry-Free Compliance service may be sufficient.
Falling out of good standing can put your business and your personal liability protection at risk. While no service can eliminate all risk, Advanced Compliance helps you stay organized and avoid common compliance issues.
Registered Agent and Advanced Compliance both help your business stay compliant, but are separate services that serve different purposes, and many businesses use both.
A Registered Agent is required by law and acts as your business’s official point of contact with the state. They receive legal and government documents on your behalf – such as lawsuits, subpoenas, and official notices and ensure those documents are delivered to you promptly.
Advanced Compliance focuses on helping you stay compliant over time as you run and grow your business. It helps you track compliance deadlines, handle eligible required filings like annual reports, update your business information, obtain your Certificate of Good Standing, and get expert compliance support as questions come up.
Registered Agent service isn’t included because it’s a separate legal requirement with its own responsibilities and costs. Advanced Compliance is designed to complement Registered Agent service not replace it, by helping you stay organized, up to date, and in good standing.

Advanced Compliance is offered as part of both our Pro and Premium packages. It’s free for the first year when you choose the Pro package and then renews at $99/yr after that. It is included at no extra cost as part of the Premium formation package.

Using a Service
The Worry-Free Compliance service covers annual report filings, compliance alerts, and up to two business amendments per year. Adding Advanced Compliance includes important features designed to give you more tools and provide maximum protection to keep your business on track including 24/17 compliance monitoring, money-back guarantee, unlimited amendment filings, a good standing certificate, and advanced compliance support.
It’s a state requirement that you update your business documents with the state any time you change your business name, address, or ownership details.
Worry-Free Compliance includes two amendment filings per year and then each additional amendment costs $100 after that. With Advanced Compliance, ZenBusiness will cover as many business amendments as you need throughout the year (state filing fees may still apply) without charging additional ZenBusiness service fees. If you expect to make regular changes to your name, address, or ownership details then it’s best to upgrade to Advanced Compliance.
