If you’re looking to start a registered business, then you might be considering using a business formation service like Bizee or CorpNet. These business formation companies (and other companies like them) can be very helpful if you feel overwhelmed by all the business paperwork you’re facing.

But in the CorpNet vs. Bizee matchup, who comes out on top? Are there any alternatives you should consider instead? In this guide, we’ll review both Bizee and CorpNet, comparing how these two options compete in terms of value, customer service, customer reviews, and more.

Let’s get started.

About CorpNet and Bizee

At first glance, Bizee and CorpNet may look alike — both companies provide tools and services to help entrepreneurs form and manage their businesses. Still, their histories and offerings distinguish them from each other.

Bizee was originally founded in 2004 as Incfile, a name it operated under for nearly 20 years. In 2023, the company rebranded as Bizee to better represent its broader service lineup. What started out as a business formation service has evolved into a more complete platform that includes registered agent services, compliance solutions, and ongoing resources to support small business owners beyond the initial launch.

CorpNet, founded in 2009, has a slightly shorter track record but a deep history in the industry through its founders — a husband-and-wife team with business formation experience dating back to 1997. The company remains family-owned and offers a range of services, from new business filings to payroll tax registrations and beyond. With a team of more than 200 employees, CorpNet operates on a smaller scale than some competitors but still has significant resources to support its customers.

Key Facts About Bizee and CorpNet

Bizee and CorpNet have a fair bit of common ground as two established companies in the business formation services sector. We’ll dive into the distinctions between these brands throughout this guide, but here’s a quick glance at these companies.

CorpNet

  • Strong customer review history, but not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  • Offers bulk pricing for registered agent service
  • Convenience fees and shipping costs make costs a little higher than advertised

Bizee

  • Offers a free LLC formation package (plus state fees)
  • Includes one free year of registered agent service in LLC formation packages
  • Not accredited by the Better Business Bureau

CorpNet vs. Bizee: Our Full Review

In our assessment of Bizee and CorpNet, we evaluated each company on the basis of several different categories: business formation services, registered agent service, additional service offerings, customer feedback, and customer support.

Let’s take a closer look at those categories.

Business Formation Packages

Both Bizee and CorpNet can help you form a limited liability company, corporation, or nonprofit (CorpNet can also help you form a professional corporation). But how much will these business formation services cost you? For many small business owners, that’s a very important question to answer.

In this section, we’ll compare how much it costs to start an LLC with these brands. While an LLC won’t be the right business structure for every company, it’s a popular choice among entrepreneurs, making it a great comparison point for a guide like this.

Both Bizee and CorpNet offer a variety of business formation packages to choose from. To start, here are the packages on offer from Bizee:

  • Basic ($0 plus state fees): Bizee checks if your name is available and then files your Articles of Organization with standard processing (around 3 weeks). You also get one year of free registered agent service, a month of free virtual address service, and a tax consultation.
  • Standard ($199 plus state fees): You get everything in the basic package, plus help creating an LLC operating agreement, getting an employer identification number (EIN, sometimes called a federal tax ID number), and filing IRS Form 2553 if needed.
  • Premium ($299 plus state fees): You get everything in the standard package as well as rush filing, business contract templates, a domain name, a business email address, and more.

Meanwhile, here are CorpNet’s package offerings:

  • Basic ($99 plus state fees): CorpNet verifies if your desired business name is available and files your Articles of Organization for you. You’ll also get complimentary access to CorpNet B.I.Z. (Business Information Zone), a compliance tool that helps you receive reminders for important due dates. The basic package also includes 60 days of free registered agent service and organizer resolutions.
  • Deluxe ($219 plus state fees): You get everything in the basic package, but the 60 days of registered agent service gets upgraded to a full year for free. You’ll also get an EIN and print delivery.
  • Complete ($269 plus state fees): You get everything in the deluxe package, plus a customer operating agreement, a custom seal, and an LLC kit with a customized binder and membership certificates.

One important note: CorpNet charges a $29 shipping fee and a 3% convenience fee on all of these packages, so the price point will be a little higher than advertised at the top of the package selection page.

CorpNet’s compliance tools are appealing, but it’s hard to argue with Bizee’s free LLC formation service (plus state fees). That’s why we offer the same perk at ZenBusiness. We’ll file your LLC formation paperwork on your behalf; you just pay state filing fees.

Registered Agent Service

Every registered business entity, such as an LLC or corporation, must designate a registered agent — an individual or service responsible for receiving service of process and other official state communications on the company’s behalf. Technically, you can serve as your own registered agent, but there are specific requirements: you must reside in the state, keep a physical street address there, and be present at that address during standard business hours.

For most business owners, those conditions are either impractical or impossible to meet consistently. That’s why many turn to professional registered agent services instead. Both Bizee and CorpNet offer these services, making it easier to stay compliant without the hassle of managing it on your own.

Bizee charges $119 per year for this service, but they also throw in a year of free agent service if you use their LLC formation services. CorpNet also throws in some free agent service if you use their incorporation services, but that freebie only lasts 60 days unless you use their Deluxe or Complete Package (then it extends to a year). Outside of the free trial, registered agent service costs $149 per year.

It’s also worth noting that CorpNet does offer volume discounts for this service, so you might be eligible for discounts if you hire them as your agent in multiple states or for multiple business entities. For example, if you hired them as your agent in 20 or more states, you’d pay just $119 per state.

All told, Bizee provides a better value in the registered agent category.

Additional Services

Both Bizee and CorpNet offer more than just formation services, giving entrepreneurs access to a broader range of tools to manage different business needs in one place. That said, the two companies don’t provide the exact same services. We won’t list every option in this CorpNet vs. Bizee comparison, but here’s an overview of what each provider brings to the table.

CorpNet’s catalog covers a variety of filings and compliance services. For example, they can reserve a business name before you officially form your company, file a DBA, handle initial and annual reports, obtain foreign qualifications, and manage amendments or conversions. They also assist with EIN applications and payroll tax registrations. A standout feature is their free compliance platform, CorpNet B.I.Z., which helps track important deadlines such as annual report due dates or tax filings. Signing up for CorpNet B.I.Z. is free, though there are fees for any filings or services you order through the system.

Bizee offers its own suite of tools to help businesses get off the ground. Their services include securing an EIN, drafting operating agreements or banking resolutions, filing S corporation elections, providing corporate kits, and assisting with trademarks. They also feature a business license package designed to help identify the licenses and permits your business must obtain.

Customer Reviews

When we assess online business service providers, we look at third-party platforms like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau. These sources provide a more impartial view of what customers think about each company. With that in mind, we examined feedback for both Bizee and CorpNet.

Bizee has a large presence on Trustpilot, where it holds an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars across more than 22,000 reviews (as of this writing). Many customers highlight the platform’s ease of use and simple navigation. However, there are also concerns to consider: Bizee is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and its BBB profile currently carries an F rating due to unresolved complaints. Some reviewers also report issues such as filing errors or negative interactions with customer service.

CorpNet also performs well on Trustpilot. At the time of writing, they’ve collected over 1,150 reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Trustpilot notes that not all of these reviews may be fully verified on the platform, so the score could be skewed towards the positive side (knowing this, we take the score with a grain of salt). But overall, customer sentiment is favorable. Many reviewers commend specific support representatives by name and mention that the filing process was straightforward.

That said, CorpNet’s reviews aren’t universally positive. Some users mention difficulties with the interface, errors in filings, or slow processing times. And, similar to Bizee, CorpNet is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. If you value the BBB’s accreditation process, you’ll find that both of these brands fall short.

Customer Support

At some point, you’ll probably need help — whether it’s a question about your business, a service you’ve purchased, or something else entirely. In those moments, having dependable customer support can make a big difference.

Bizee provides lifetime customer support via phone, email, and a contact form on its website. In our test, a message submitted through the form received a reply within one business day. Many customers also share positive experiences with Bizee’s support team, though some reviews note frustration with unhelpful representatives, particularly when it came to canceling services they didn’t intend to buy. Bizee’s support is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT.

CorpNet offers support through phone, chat, or a contact form. Their chat system begins with a bot but quickly redirects to a live agent if more assistance is needed. Their published hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday. In our testing, results were mixed: our contact form submission is still pending, but the live chat option gave us a thorough answer in about twenty minutes. While we were transferred twice (from the chatbot to an agent and then to an account specialist), we ultimately received the details we needed — and the specialist even provided her direct contact information for future questions.

Based on customer reviews, most people report positive interactions with CorpNet’s support team, too.

In our opinion, it’s a little disappointing that these brands don’t offer any weekend support hours, especially considering that some entrepreneurs are weekend warriors who might need help on a Saturday or Sunday. That’s why ZenBusiness is committed to giving you the support you need every day of the week.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bizee and CorpNet

  • The most widely recommended LLC formation package offered by Bizee is their Basic package plan, which is free (you just pay your state’s filing fee). With this option, you’ll receive a year of registered agent service in addition to your formation.

  • CorpNet will handle your state-specific requirements, including New York’s publication step, but the service can be pretty pricey and vary by location (when we asked for a quote for one county in New York, the price exceeded $700). Bizee doesn’t help with this service.

If you need help with NY publication requirements, check out our New York publication service for more information.

  • Bizee presents a fair number of upsells throughout the business formation process, especially if you use their LLC formation package (plus state fees). CorpNet doesn’t have as many upsells (though some exist), but it’s worth noting that they add a shipping fee of $29 to every purchase, which is a high cost for sending a few pieces of paper (for most orders). They also charge a 3% convenience fee. While this isn’t technically an “upsell,” it does raise the price higher than advertised at the top of the page.

  • CorpNet’s refund policy is quite good. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee gives you 60 days from your purchase date to request a refund, which they will provide with no questions asked and no processing fee. It’s nearly identical to our refund policy at ZenBusiness.

Bizee lets you cancel and get a refund if you act quickly — usually within the first 24 hours before your payment is sent to the state or another third party. After that point, or once work like a trademark search has started, refunds aren’t available.

  • Would you like to take a look at a few other options and see if Bizee is as good as other options? Check out our comparisons of Bizee to other LLC services:

  • With Bizee, standard processing usually takes a few weeks (their promise time varies by state). Expedited service (included in their Premium package) cuts their processing time considerably, but it still varies by state. Meanwhile, CorpNet’s standard processing runs between 10-15 business days, and expedited processing takes 5-7 business days.

  • You absolutely can form an LLC on your own. Using LLC services can be really helpful, though. Services like ZenBusiness, Bizee, and CorpNet can all take some of the paperwork off your plate. These services can also help you navigate your state’s business compliance rules and regulations, which might be trickier than you expect.

  • Bizee’s biggest advantage is their Basic package, which gives you a free LLC formation (plus state fees) and one year of free registered agent service. CorpNet’s biggest advantages are their strong customer review scores and their satisfaction guarantee.

  • CorpNet charges $99 for their annual reports, $149 per year for registered agent service, and they also offer a free corporate compliance tool, CorpNet B.I.Z., that helps you stay informed about requirements. Bizee charges an annual fee of $119 per year for its registered agent service. They also offer an annual report service for $99 (plus state fees).
