Are you looking to form a new limited liability company (LLC), but you’re not sure which of the many formation services can best assist you?

Companies like CorpNet and IncFile can do the heavy lifting for you, but how do you know which one you should use?

In this CorpNet vs IncFile LLC service comparison, we’ll walk through their main commonalities and differences. By the time you’re done reading, we’re confident that you’ll know which one is the right choice to form your new LLC.

Do CorpNet and IncFile Offer Good Value?

IncFile and CorpNet are both good LLC formation services, and either one of them will serve you well. However, IncFile has a few advantages, starting with their offer of free LLC formation service, which significantly undercuts CorpNet’s $108 base-level package.

Another important difference is that IncFile includes a full year of registered agent service with any LLC formation package, whereas CorpNet only provides a 60-day trial in their cheapest package.

If you would like to learn more about these two service providers, read on to discover all the relevant details.

6 Things They Have In Common

1) Affordable: CorpNet and IncFile can save you hundreds of dollars over hiring a traditional business attorney to draft and file your articles of organization. Furthermore, given the relatively basic nature of the LLC as a business structure, you may not need a lawyer’s expertise in the first place.

2) Customer Support: Even though you’ll be saving a considerable amount of money, you still won’t be going it alone. With IncFile and CorpNet, you have access to their helpful customer service reps who can answer your tough questions. No need to waste time trying to find the answers for yourself.

3) Experience: If you prefer to conduct business with highly experienced companies, look no further. CorpNet and IncFile have each formed thousands of businesses over the years. They’re entirely legitimate operations that know how to get the job done right.

4) Customer Reviews: Not only do these companies both have plenty of experience, but the vast majority of customers they’ve served are quite pleased. IncFile and CorpNet have many customer reviews across the web, and they’re nearly all positive in nature.

5) Additional Services: If you want other business services like registered agent service or a federal tax ID number (EIN), CorpNet and IncFile can help you with much more than just your formation itself. There’s no need to shop around at multiple companies when you can get everything you need under one roof.

6) Educational: Looking for more info about business services before you buy? Still thinking about the DIY route? Whether or not you end up using CorpNet or IncFile for LLC service, their online learning centers are packed with free information about tons of business topics.

Side-by-Side Comparisons

Pricing

IncFile: IncFile will help you form your business for free while also providing a full year of registered agent service. Once the first year is over, the registered agent service will renew for $119 per year, which is a strong price point. In addition, their $149 Gold package and $299 Platinum package are both packed with valuable features that make them strong options as well, even at their higher price points.

CorpNet: CorpNet charges $29 for shipping and handling of every order, so we added that fee to the price of each package to make their service easier to compare with their competitors. Their $108 Basic package provides a decent value if your business formation needs are relatively simple, but it only includes a 60-day trial of registered agent service. Their $228 Deluxe and $278 Complete packages do include a full year of registered agent service but are rather expensive compared to some other services.

Experience

IncFile IncFile’s experience level is quite high, as they’ve helped form 800,000+ businesses since they opened in 2004.

CorpNet: The ownership group behind CorpNet has been providing business solutions since 1997, and they’ve served more than 100,000 business clients.

Customer Support

IncFile: IncFile offers phone and email support, which we tested. When we used their phone support, our call was answered quickly, and our question was answered but not elaborated upon. However, its email support is much less responsive. Many of our emails have gone unanswered, and several of the responses we have received are just form emails that don’t directly address our questions.

CorpNet: CorpNet offers phone, email, and chat support. Unlike most competitors, they also offer bilingual support, which is a nice feature for Spanish-speaking customers. We tested all three support options and received prompt responses, with accurate answers that were expanded upon to an impressive degree.

Turnaround Times

IncFile: IncFile guarantees that every LLC or corporation formation will be processed and forwarded to your state of formation within one business day. If you need your business formed in a hurry, IncFile offers the ability to order expedited state processing for an additional fee (determined by your state), or you can purchase their Platinum package which includes expedited service.

CorpNet: CorpNet conveniently lists turnaround times for both standard and expedited service on the package selection screen. Depending on your state, this could be as quick as a couple of business days, or it could take as long as several weeks. Their Deluxe and Complete packages both include 24-hour document preparation, which means CorpNet will prepare and submit your formation paperwork within 24 hours of you placing your order.

Customer Reviews

IncFile: IncFile has around 32,000 reviews online, and even with this high volume of feedback, the company still maintains a strong average rating score.

CorpNet: CorpNet has similarly high ratings but with a smaller volume of feedback. Still, we were able to find around 600 mostly positive reviews of their services.

Ease of Use

IncFile: As you walk through the process of signing up for IncFile, your steps are personalized based on the state you’re forming in and the type of business you wish to establish. There are even little question marks and hyperlinks throughout the application to learn more about a specific question or entry on the form. There are a few upsells and third-party offers to navigate through, but if you opt into any of them, your total price is immediately updated on the screen. There are never any surprises with IncFile.

CorpNet: Your total price adds up at the bottom of the package selection page as you choose your package and add-on features, and it includes your state fee so that you know exactly how much your formation will cost before you even start entering your information. Once you’ve made your choices, you’ll fill out their order form, which is where you give them your contact info, along with any relevant business information that they’ll need to form your company.

Additional Services

With either CorpNet or IncFile, you have access to an impressive array of additional services that can help your business grow and thrive. As you might expect, these companies offer many of the same services, as either can help you with registered agent service, foreign qualifications, EIN acquisition, annual reports, amendments, and more.

However, there are also some services that are only available from one company or the other. For instance, IncFile provides its customers with business accounting services, which is a feature that CorpNet lacks. However, CorpNet’s automated corporate compliance platform allows you to manage multiple business entities with ease, and while IncFile also has a compliance reminder system, it’s not nearly as comprehensive as what you’ll get from CorpNet.

FAQ's

  • The most widely recommended LLC formation package offered by IncFile is their Silver plan, which is free if you pay your own state fee. With this option, you’ll receive a full year of registered agent service in addition to your formation, making this a bargain.

In fact, we’re only aware of one competing company (Inc Authority) that offers the combination of registered agent service and LLC formation for free as IncFile does.

If you have some extra room in your budget and want a few more advanced features, we also think that their Gold package ($149 + state fee) is a good purchase, as it includes an EIN, a company alerts system, and an operating agreement.

  • While IncFile is one of the most popular companies in this industry, they do have a few aspects that we’re not crazy about, and this is one of them. IncFile does not provide assistance with publication requirements.

We called their customer support department to make sure, and they told us that state publication requirements “need to be taken care of with the state directly.” It’s unfortunate, especially when some competitors (like CorpNet and ZenBusiness) offer comprehensive formation service that includes state-specific compliance requirements like publication.

For more information on companies that provide New York LLC publication services, check out our guide to the top options.

  • In our opinion, both CorpNet and IncFile do a good job of avoiding upsells throughout the ordering process. The only note we’d like to add to this point is that, while it’s not technically an “upsell,” we don’t like how CorpNet excludes shipping costs from their advertised price points.

Nearly every other company in this industry includes shipping in their price points, and CorpNet’s $29 price tag for mailing a few pieces of paper is pretty high.

  • CorpNet has a fantastic refund policy. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee gives you 60 days from your purchase date to request a refund, which they will provide with no questions asked and no processing fee. It’s nearly identical to the ZenBusiness refund policy!

IncFile’s refund policy isn’t quite so generous. They only allow customers to request refunds before they’ve sent your payment to the state, which they say is usually within 24 hours. Even if you squeeze your refund request into this tight window, there’s a $30 processing fee. Once they’ve submitted your money to your formation state, the refund window is closed.

  • Would you like to take a look at a few other options and see if IncFile is as good as other options? Check out our comparisons of IncFile to other top-rated LLC services:

  • CorpNet and IncFile have very similar turnaround times in most states because they both base their estimates on how quickly each state processes LLC formations. However, we will point out that IncFile is often a day or two quicker in many states.

  • You sure can! In fact, plenty of people do form their own LLCs without assistance every day.

However, we simply like to caution our readers that because every state has its own requirements to form an LLC, it can be a hassle to familiarize yourself with the intricate details of your state’s specific rules and regulations.

In addition, we appreciate the peace of mind we get from hiring a professional service because we trust their expertise. Services like us at ZenBusiness can form your LLC for free, as long as you cover the state fee.

  • CorpNet has responsive customer service with bilingual support, along with several options for accessing their support, which represents a noteworthy advantage. As for Incfile, their biggest advantage is their inclusion of a full year of registered agent service with their free Silver package, a deal that few competitors can match.

  • CorpNet has a solid price point for annual report service, at $89 plus the state’s required fee. They also offer registered agent service at the rate of $149 per year.

IncFile has a better price for registered agent service, at $119 per year, and it has an $88 rate for annual reports that’s nearly identical to CorpNet’s price point.

I didn’t get what I wanted I got what I needed.

I didn’t get what I wanted. Christine, my “customer service” representative, failed to stroke my ego, constantly talked in a calm charming voice, and failed to provide me with the product I WANTED. Instead, I received the product that I needed, was not pushed into purchasing things I didn’t need at this time. She answered EVERY SINGLE QUESTION AND CONCERN with CLARITY and PRECISION. Employees like her a an asset to corporations and I will continue to upgrade my services and add as needed. There was ZERO stress during this transaction.
