The more traffic you can generate for your affiliate site, the better it will perform and the greater the value it will accumulate over time.
Of course you cannot just snap your fingers and magically expect traffic to skyrocket; you need to be proactive and use a number of strategies to achieve improvements.

The old days of questionable approaches to link building are long gone, but that does not mean that you should overlook the opportunity to increase site traffic through implementing some of the tried and tested methods in this arena.
There are a number of link building strategies that work for affiliate sites, but the main aim of any of your efforts should be to earn high quality backlinks so that organic traffic can be catalysed in a comparatively short time frame.
First and foremost you should research the kinds of content that are already earning links elsewhere and try to follow current trends. Secondly you should aim to only create content that is unique and of a very high quality, as it will be unlikely to be accepted elsewhere if it is bland, generic or clearly copy-pasted.
Once everything is in place, your content should be seen as a long term asset that earns clicks and conversions consistently. You should also aim to keep up your link building efforts to see that exponential traffic growth you crave.
Harness social media effectively
Many affiliate sites make great use of social media to enhance traffic, although again this is an area where mistakes are also made and there is always room for improvement.
For example, while Instagram may be a high-flyer in terms of user growth and engagement, it is not as well suited to earning clicks on external links because of its image-focused nature. Conversely, you may have better success if you instead refocus your efforts on augmenting your presence on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, where CTRs can be far higher.

You can be as rigorous in your endeavours to create quality content and earn excellent inbound links from reputable third parties, but at the end of the day your search rank will be as much determined by Google’s automated algorithms as it will be any grassroots support you earn through link building or social media.
Because of this, you will only be able to achieve exponential traffic growth if your pages pop up close to the top of SERPs for the keywords you target.
Authoritative backlinks are just one part of an impactful, modern SEO strategy. You also need to take everything from page load speed to UX and UI into account.
Most importantly of all, you need to be willing to change your affiliate site when you see that something is not working. Being flexible and responsive will be the best way to secure sustainable traffic growth.
