5 Tips To Create Appealing Business Cards

The business card may seem like an old-fashioned marketing tool, especially when there is the possibility to connect on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. However, business cards have their own importance in the paper marketing and branding of a business. That is why you must pay attention to the details while designing business cards for your company. Avoid being too conventional in the card design.

Here is a rundown of some important tips to design appealing business cards.

1. Choose Colors Wisely

The business card is the first presentation tool to potential customers, so it should convey the right subliminal messages to inspire them to do business with you. So think about how your business can be framed and what the predominant colors of the latter are.

Use the primary colors of your brand in order to associate a recognizable and identifiable color system with your business card.

2. Pay Attention to Design

The contact information is certainly the most important part of the business card, and it has to be adjusted in a small area of the business card. So it’s best to keep the design clean and structured. For the text, it is always better to keep it within the safety margins and not to make writings too close to the cutting line.

Create few but strong contrast elements, such as blacks with vital light elements, opposite colors, and combinations of geometric shapes that attract the eye. If, on the other hand, you want to maintain a clean and simple design at all costs, use only black on white. Stand out for the fineness and resolution of printing and also for the paper used.

3. Make it Legible

Make sure to check the legibility of the business card. Use understandable and simple fonts and do not use many fonts together; otherwise, it creates confusion. My advice is to look for a unique font that can be associated with your company for design, letter cutting, business philosophy, etc. Or, look for a simpler variant of it for smaller texts.

Usually, if you choose a premium font, they are often accompanied by variations in thickness and style. For example, we find different degrees of thickness (100, 200, 300, 400, etc.) and various font styles (Normal, Italic, Serif, Sans serif, Cursive, etc.). If you also consider that business cards are often exchanged in places where the light is not so strong, the need to create readable texts becomes essential.

4. Go for Better Paper Quality

Reflecting your brand through a business card can be a double-edged sword. Imagine receiving a card of thin and poor paper, what do you imagine?

Surely, the first thought is to associate the person who gave you the business card to an activity of little importance, badly organized, and devoid of attention for its products. But be careful not to overdo the quality and attention to detail. Otherwise, many customers may be frightened by your too much preparation, expecting exorbitant prices from you. Therefore, it is better to keep a balance between the elements. Get your business cards printed from a professional business card printing service, where you will have many quality printing options to choose from.

5. Don’t Skimp on Printing

Do you want to save money with printing and therefore decide to print them at home? Most of the time, it is not an adequate solution, as the resolution with which you print at home is much lower than that proposed by specialized printers. The same goes for ink and paper.

So contact a good graphic designer and printing service to have your business cards designed and printed professionally and conveniently.
