Do you want to form a new LLC, but you’re not interested in the DIY option?
There are many online LLC service providers that can help you complete the formation process, but how do you decide which one to use? ZenBusiness and CorpNet are two of the top companies in the business formation industry today.
This comparison guide takes a close look at how these companies fare when it comes to our five key points for selecting an incorporation service. Is ZenBusiness your best bet, or does CorpNet hold the overall advantage? Let’s find out.
In our review and comparison of each online LLC formation service, we performed a “stress test” on each based on five key factors:
As you’ll see in this comparison review of ZenBusiness and CorpNet, both are good LLC services. Which one is the best for your unique needs?
ZenBusiness: If you want to receive your business formation for free, ZenBusiness is an excellent option. Our Starter package includes the formation of your business, and all you have to pay is your state’s required fee. Our $199 Pro package adds ongoing compliance assistance, a guided operating agreement or corporate bylaws, and faster processing. You also might like our $299 package, which adds our fastest processing, a domain name, and a business website package.
CorpNet: Before we start analyzing their pricing, we’ll mention that CorpNet charges a separate $29 shipping fee for every order. Because we’re only aware of one other company in this entire industry that doesn’t include shipping in their advertised prices, we’ve added $29 to all of their packages to make them directly comparable with ZenBusiness. Their pricing starts at $108, but this package only includes a 60-day trial of registered agent service and little else of value. You can get a year of registered agent service with their $228 Deluxe and $278 Complete packages, but at that point, you’re dealing with some high price tags.
ZenBusiness: ZenBusiness first opened for business in 2015. Even though we’re a relatively young company, we’ve already formed 400,000+ business entities, and our goal is to form a million more LLCs and corporations in the next few years. Our customer feedback is truly elite, as we have thousands of reviews and nearly all of them are positive in nature.
CorpNet: CorpNet itself has been around since 2005, but its ownership group has been in the incorporation industry since 1997, and they’ve helped form more than 100,000 businesses since then. Like ZenBusiness, CorpNet has positive client feedback. With reviews numbering in the hundreds spread across the internet, it’s impressive that over 98% of CorpNet reviews are rated either four or five stars.
ZenBusiness: ZenBusiness has customer support available by phone or email, or you can use the chat application on our website. We have expanded availability that even includes Sundays — very few competitors have any weekend availability. We pride ourselves in continuously improving the quality and responsiveness of our customer support, and we believe we compare favorably to the vast majority of competitors in this area.
CorpNet: CorpNet has a reliable customer support network that you can reach via phone, email, or web chat. If you would rather communicate in Spanish, they even offer bilingual support. In our experience, they respond quickly, and their friendly and helpful representatives are always impressive. Also, if you take a look at some of their customer reviews, you’ll see quite a few of those clients talking about how much they appreciate CorpNet’s support team.
ZenBusiness: If you want a formation service that simplifies every aspect of the process, look no further than ZenBusiness. All you need to do for us to form your business is select which of our formation packages you’d like to purchase and provide us with some basic information about yourself and your company. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
CorpNet: As you select your package and your add-on features, your total cost adds up on the screen in real time, so there are never any questions about how much you’re spending. Their order form only takes about 10-15 minutes to fill out, so you can get your formation started and then get on with your day. The only gripe we have with them in this area is that they charge you $79 extra if you don’t want to use them as their registered agent. It’s a truly bizarre upcharge that we’ve never seen from any other company.
ZenBusiness: With ZenBusiness, all formation speeds vary based on state capabilities. Also, if you’re in a hurry, you can choose one of our premium packages to speed things up a bit! When compared to other formation services, we are usually either just as fast or slightly faster. To find out your turnaround time, simply plug in your state and immediately see your estimated processing speed.
CorpNet: When you form a business with CorpNet, your estimated turnaround time (for both standard and expedited service) is displayed on their package selection screen. Their formation speeds are based on which state you’re forming in and can therefore vary from just a few days all the way up to several weeks. CorpNet also promises 24-hour document preparation with all Deluxe and Complete plan purchases.
Got IncFile LLC service questions? We’ve got answers.
ZenBusiness has a huge advantage over most competitors in this industry. That advantage, of course, is our offer of a business formation package for free ― there are very few competing services that can match this offer. All you have to pay is the required state filing fee.
CorpNet has a few advantages as well, with the most significant one being its experience, as CorpNet’s ownership group has served entrepreneurs with business services for decades.
Both of these companies have a variety of features that help your LLC or corporation stay in good standing with your state government. With CorpNet, registered agent service is available for the annual fee of $149, and they also offer annual reports for $89. ZenBusiness offers these features as well, with registered agent service costing just $99 for the first year and $199/year after that. We also provide annual report service for $100.
CorpNet and ZenBusiness have fantastic refund policies that are among the best in the business. Both offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee that gives you 60 days to analyze your purchase and decide if you’re satisfied. If you’re not, all you have to do is ask for a refund, and you will receive it. These companies don’t even charge any processing fees!
In some states, you need to publish your company’s formation in a regional newspaper. For example, Arizona and Nebraska require publication for LLCs and corporations, New York requires it for LLCs only, and Pennsylvania and Georgia have this requirement for corporations only.
If you’re forming a business in one of these five states, you’ll be happy to hear that both CorpNet and ZenBusiness offer to handle your entire publication requirement on your behalf. Considering that many companies in this industry provide no assistance whatsoever with publication, this is a nice bonus for ZenBusiness and CorpNet.
There is no legal requirement that dictates the usage of a professional business formation service to form a corporation. We actually have our own comprehensive guide to help you form your own business if you would like to try the DIY route for your LLC formation.
However, we’re not crazy about forming our own businesses because the LLC has different rules and regulations in each state, and we only recommend forming your own if you’re 100% certain that you know how the LLC formation process works.
