Steps to Form a West Virginia Nonprofit Corporation

Select initial directors
The first step in forming a West Virginia nonprofit corporation is to select and recruit the initial directors.

Get tax ID numbers
You’ll need to get an employer identification number (EIN) if you want to apply for 501(c)(3) status, file your taxes, open a business bank account, or hire employees. At the federal level, you must apply to the IRS. Open a bank account
